11/14/25 – The Pet of the Week: Mandy

The Pet of the Week!

Meet Mandy! She’s a volunteer favorite and one of the sweetest souls at The Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter. In a sea of black puppies her age, she keeps getting overlooked, but her personality shines bright.  At just 11 months old and around 32 pounds, this mixed breed dog has spent 14 long weeks growing up in a shelter instead of a loving home.

She came in with four identical siblings, and most of them are still at the shelter too.  But Mandy is different than her siblings.  She’s calm, gentle, and so eager to love!  She’s one of the more relaxed pups in the little black puppy crew. Yes, she’s playful and has some happy energy when she is first let out.  Afterall, Mandy is still a pup.  But her spirit is softer, sweeter, steadier.

Shelter workers cat tested her the other day, and they say she was humbled by the cats!  They even have video proof upon request.  Mandy was respectful, calm, and showed zero interest in chasing her feline friends. She proved to be an absolute sweetheart.

Mandy deserves a home where she can stretch her legs, learn the world, and grow through these precious puppy months with people.  Mandy is spayed, vaccinated, and ready to go to her FURever home today.  Whether it’s in a foster home or permanent home family, Mandy is ready to bring love and laughter the second she walks in your door.

Mandy’s adoption fee is $50 for the next couple of weeks.  That fee covers her spay, microchip, and age-appropriate vaccines.  If you would like to fill out an adoption application for Mandy or one of the other dogs or cats at The Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter, click on the adoption tab at www.moaspets.com.  Or better yet, just stop by to meet her!
