12/5/25 – The Pet of the Week: Alice

The Pet of the Week!

Meet Alice!  Alice is a two-year-old Boxer/Pit Bull mix, who does not ask for much; just a family to love.  Shelter workers at The Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter say she is quiet, calm, and happiest simply being around people.  This 60-pound ball of fur is great with kids, housetrained, and even knows the word “sit.”  Alice also loves her crate, which is her safe space.

If you want a dog who loves snuggling on the couch, then Alice is perfect!  At the same time, she loves to play with her zoomies and other backyard toys.  Alice is a little shy with the outside world and appreciates slow intros with new dogs.  But she warms up after a while.  She does have a bit of a prey drive when it comes to small animals out in the wild, but she walks calmly on leash.

Alice is in a temporary foster home and will be returned to the Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter soon if she’s not adopted.  If you want a loyal, loving, and quietly devoted best friend who happily greets you at the door when you arrive home and loves and protects your kids like her own, then Alice is the dog for you!

If you would like to fill out an adoption application for Alice or one of the other dogs or cats at The Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter, click on the adoption tab at www.moaspets.com.  Or better yet, just stop by to meet her!
