7/25/25 – Pet of The Week: Nellie

The Pet of The Week!

The Pet of the Week on 95.3 WEGG is made possible by Southern Hardware, your home for all kinds of pet and farm animal supplies! See them at 650 Highway 72 West in Comer and online at www.gosouthernhardware.com.

She’s back!  Nellie, formerly known as Chanel.  It’s been four months, or exactly 111 days since Nellie came to The Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter, and she is still looking for her FURever home.  At just 6 months old, this tan labrador-retriever mix is currently in a loving foster home where she is thriving!  With another dog to show her the ropes, she’s come alive!  Nellie is playful, polite, and full of puppy joy.  She’s learning commands like “sit,” adores her doggy pool, and only chews on her toys (not your shoes!).  Nellie has mastered the doggy door too and doesn’t have accidents in the house.  She finds comfort and security with other doggy companions making a home where another dog already lives the perfect environment for her!

Nellie’s adoption fee is $100 which covers her spay, microchip, and age-appropriate vaccines.  If you would like to fill out an adoption application for Nellie or one of the other available dogs or cats at The Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter, click on the “Adopt” link at www.moaspets.com.  Or better yet, just stop by to meet her.

Operation hours are as follows: closed on Mondays and Tuesdays except for scheduled surgery appointments; open Wednesday through Saturday from noon until 5:00 p.m. and Sundays from noon until 4:00 p.m.  Intakes are Wednesdays through Fridays from noon till four.  The Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is located at 1888 Colbert-Danielsville Road in Danielsville, Georgia.  Their number is 706-795-2868.
