The Pet of the Week!
Meet Rusty! Rusty is 3-year-old, 50-pound Aussie/Black Mouth Cur mix. Workers at The Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter describe him as the kind of dog who will give his whole heart to the person who saves him. But right now, he’s very sad in the shelter. Rusty came with his sister Mimi, but she’s already be relocated. Rusty is terrified in his kennel and waiting for someone to notice him.
But outside of those walls, he’s a completely different dog. With a little trust, Rusty turns into the most affectionate “Velcro pup,” wrapping his arms around his favorite staff member’s leg and clinging as if to say, “Please, don’t leave me.”
Rusty is a submissive and sweet soul, and offers up gentle kisses. Come meet him today and show him that his FURever family is out there. Ask the staff to help you get him into a play yard where you will see him shine the brightest.
Rusty’s adoption fee is $100 which covers his neuter, microchip, and age-appropriate vaccines. Operation hours are as follows: closed on Mondays and Tuesdays except for scheduled surgery appointments; open Wednesday through Saturday from noon until 5:00 p.m. and Sundays from noon until 4:00 p.m. Intakes are Wednesdays through Fridays from noon till four.
