1/30/26 – The Pet of the Week: Jaskier back Again!

He’s back again!  Jaskier!  This ten-month-old beautiful black lab mix has been at The Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter since June.  He weighs about 50 pounds.  Shelter workers describe him as an absolute gem-and a-half!  They say he is a sweet and playful dog who loves to play tug!  Jaskier picks up a ball just to gleefully get squirreled in puppy fashion and drop it as he moves on to the next thing!  He’s funny, entertaining, and just a hoot and a half!

Jaskier is currently in a foster home and thriving!  However, he can be easily startled by loud noises, but he is learning to adapt.  Jaskier has started to play with the resident dog.  He takes correction well when puppy nipping, and he is gentle with older kids.  Jaskier would probably do best in a home without toddlers, simply because he’s still learning his manners and doesn’t always realize his size. Jaskier will need patience, structure, and time.  But he’s showing steady and consistent progress which is all that matters.

Jaskier’s adoption fee is $50 for the next couple of weeks.  That fee covers his neuter, microchip, and age-appropriate vaccines.  If you would like to fill out an adoption application for Jaskier or one of the other dogs or cats at The Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter, click on the adoption tab at www.moaspets.com.  Or better yet, just stop by to meet her!
