10/24/25 – The Pet of the Week: Dobby

The Pet of the Week!

Meet Dobby!  Dobby is 2-year-old, 65-pound German Shepherd mix who’s been at the shelter for four weeks.  He’s the kind of dog who comes out of his kennel bursting with excitement, all with wiggly energy and a wagging tail.  A volunteer around the Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter tested him around cats the other day, and he did great.

At first, Dobby can be a little jumpy, even worried you might disappear if he doesn’t hold your attention.  But he learns and responds quickly to corrections.  With a calm voice and gentle hand, that wild energy softens into something pure and beautiful. He sits. He waits. He looks at you with the sweetest eyes, ready for praise, ready for love.

If you’ve got room for a loyal, goofy, eager-to-please companion who just wants to love and be loved, come meet Dobby.  He’s ready to trade his kennel for a couch, his shelter nametag for a collar, and his “almost free” for a FURever home.

If you would like to fill out an adoption application for Dobby or one of the other dogs or cats at The Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter, click on the adoption tab at www.moaspets.com.  Or better yet, just stop by to meet him.
