5/22/26 – The Pet of the Week: Ferdinand!

The Pet of the Week!

Meet Ferdinand, a 55-pound, one-year-old black mixed breed with a heart full of love and cuddles to share. This sweet boy is the kind of dog who just wants to be close to his people.  Whether that means snuggling on the couch or following you around the house, he’s ready to soak up all the affection you can give. Ferdinand has a gentle, loving personality that makes him easy to adore.

Ferdinand is currently heartworm positive, but don’t let that discourage you.  His treatment costs will be fully covered by the shelter, so he’ll have all the support he needs on his journey to feeling his best. What he needs most now is a caring FURever home where he can rest, recover, and be loved.

If you’re looking for a loyal best friend who will fill your days with cuddles and companionship, Ferdinand is ready to meet you. Come give this handsome boy the second chance he deserves.

Ferdinand’s adoption fee is $100, which covers his age-appropriate vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming, neuter, microchip, and adoption packet.  If you would like to learn more about Ferdinand or any of the other available dogs or cats at the Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter, fill out an adoption application online.  You can do so by clicking on the adoption tab at www.moaspets.com.  Or better yet, just stop by to meet him!

Operation hours are as follows: closed on Mondays and Tuesdays except for scheduled surgery appointments; open Wednesday through Saturday from noon until 5:00 p.m. and Sundays from noon until 4:00 p.m.  Intakes are Wednesdays through Fridays from noon till four.  The Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is located at 1888 Colbert-Danielsville Road in Danielsville, Georgia.  Their number is 706-795-2868.

The Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is also in need of donations. You can go to https://www.moaspets.com/donate.  In fact, now through the end of May, if you make a monetary donation to the animal shelter, your donation will be doubled thanks to a matching grant program.  As of May 5, the shelter has received $1,780 in donations which is doubled to $3,560.  If you can donate and help them get to that $5,000 mark, they’ll get an extra $5,000 from the grants for a whopping $10,000!

Since they are a 501c3 non-profit, your donations are tax deductible.  Animal supplies such as food are also welcome.  And while you’re at it, ask them about volunteer and fostering opportunities.
